"I hate moving"

Over this past Memorial Day weekend, I've realized a few interesting things...

I finally realize why my mom always tells me "I hate moving". I now know what she's talking about all these years. I mean, I've moved before and it was never a problem at all. Pack up my stuff, stick them into my little civic and I'm on my way. I moved from home to college, I moved from Hong Kong to New York when I was a child (we even had people come into the house to pack things for us one time). I've moved from Hong Kong to California when I was around 11 or 12. But I guess I've truly never realized how much moving an entire house really was until this past weekend.

For the first time, I finally feel like I'm REALLY moving as an adult, with a house full of furnitures, a toddler running around and a husband altogether. I didn't realize HOW MUCH stuff I really have to move either. I expected a 4 hour MAX move and it turned out to be a 7 hour move altogether. My gosh, and I only had a 2 bedroom house too.

I finally experienced what my mom felt years ago when we moved as a family - me, my brother, my dad and my mother...all four of us. I didn't have to care what to pack for the rest of the house when I was 11 or 12. Mom says, "Kids, we're moving!", we say "Yeah! but wait, does that mean we have to say goodbye to our friends at school soon?" Then we all pack, no wait, let me rephrase, then my "mom" packs like the entire house and I go pack my own room. After my room is all packed up, I'm basically done!

Finally, I'm the mom now, and I know how hard it must be for my own mother back when we were kids. I now truly understand what mom meant when she recently told me over the phone again "I hate moving". And now I think back... I used to think moving was FUN too. Not anymore. Thank God my move is over and I can't to get settle in and unpack for the next ... uhhh... 4+ months ahead.

Last but not least, I found an interesting article online today, very well said and true about our society and kids/parents today. Enjoy! Its called: Dress Your Baby in Burberry  And thank God my babypork is NOT dressed in D&G nor Burberry at all. Ha.

Puma.

Fun site I found today. I love Puma. I remember I used to love Puma when I was in like 6-7th grade or even younger. Now they've made a comeback, just like Apple. Check out their ecatalog: http://www.puma.com/ecat/

But the site makes me feel like I've lost all motor coordination though. Its kinda weird. Interesting concept though. But I feel like you end up showing more interest on the site itself and less on the real product. Well, I guess either way works for Puma.

Now go enjoy this caveman shot I found on their site. Interesting way to advertise there. Hmm....

Hello Kitty ...

As soon as you thought that Hello Kitty couldn't have came up with anymore stuff on their list... there comes this one I see today. Hello_ferrari

Oh my. Then again, I don't think this is really from Sanrio, Inc. though... but I am still wondering whether this is all just some Photoshop enhancement or the real thing.... the more I look at this, the more I think is just some Photoshop work. I can't imagine any guy wanting to drive this thing. Ha. Hot Pink AND Hello Kitty all in one? Oh boy. I wouldn't even drive this thing MYSELF and I love Hello Kitty and sports cars just as much. This would probably be cuter on a Mini Cooper, but NOT on a Ferrari. Man, people, you just ruined this awesome car. Wait, the more I look at this picture, I think it might actually be real... I'm seeing those road signs in the background and they look like road signs from Hong Kong! Oh man... scary. I hope this car belongs to girl.

I'm a Winner.

How many times have you actually won something in life? like a contest, a sweepstakes thing I'm talking about... usually I don't get that lucky. But earlier this week, I ACTUALLY won something. I submitted an email with my name and address on it and guess what? I ACTUALLY WON some new products for myself. Its even announced at their website that I was one of the winners, check it out here on the bottom of the page. See how exciting my life is right now. Whoodeedoo.

The reason is...

I came across a random blog today and really liked what this person wrote on her blog. Sometimes when we are so stressed out in life, dealing with all the issues that we think are so important... whether its money, work, stress, decisions, arguments with your partner, friend, etc. its nice to sit down and read a little story like this one below to help you relax and think twice about what the true meaning of life is and how everything in life "happens for a reason"... it might seem sappy to many of you but I think its very true. (*That's why everyone that watches the movie "Serendipity" would say that movie is so "me")... Haha. Here it goes...

Everything Happens for a Reason - "Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they are meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help you figure out who you are or who you want to be.

You may never know who are these people..maybe, but when u lock your eyes with them, you know at that moment that they will affect your life in some sort of profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without over coming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, will power, strength or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or means of good luck.

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occurs to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved road, straight flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet effect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experience can be learned from it.

In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make everyday count.

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high, hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don`t, no one ever will...We should all enjoy "the moment" for it only comes once in our lives".

Only few are given second chances so we better make the most out of it ... enjoy life while we are still here."

Staged.

After a whole weekend of packing and staging, I think we finally got our house to feel clean and ready for the Open House now. The hardest part will be keeping the place looking like a model home everyday after I use all my stuff and hide it all away for potential buyers to see.

As you can see, there are no more toys around. I almost forgot how much space I actually have without all the toys around in the living room.

Packing.

After several months, looking at over 50+ houses on the market, placing in 2 offers and lost, we finally found a place we will be calling "our new home" in San Ramon. Escrow closes soon and yesterday I think I signed about 1000 sheet of papers from the Title Company. I swear, I felt like I just signed my whole life away just because we want to own a new home. These people need to find a better way to save trees. It looks very unenvironmentally friendly. Such a waste of paper.

So the packing starts today. I will need to hide everything and "stage" my own house. I gave thoughts about going into the "staging" business some time ago and I guess this will give myself an opportunity to do it myself with my own house. Ha. We'll see how I do.

The packing adventures starts here...

My Charity Walk.

So a few friends have been asking me about how my March of Dimes WalkAmerica walk went the other weekend. It was the 1st time I've ever walked for a charity event and it was really fun and meaningful. I'll definitely do this again next year.

Here are some pics from the event. It was a nice 6.25 miles of a walk in the city of Pleasanton. My dear friend Lily came to show her support by walking with me.

She was nice enough to come to my house all the way from Pinole to walk with me. The walk started at 9am sharp and we got there just in time.

Other supporters were Aidan, Fred, Fred's mom and Fred's brother who also happen to be in town from Hong Kong.

Although I think we ended up as the last person to finish the walk, I'm still glad that we made it to the end! Well, Lily and I did since Fred's knee decided to act up on him towards the end of our walk. I think Fred walked about 5.5 miles though, that's pretty good for someone with a bad knee.

Hopefully next year, we'll all be in better shape, more prepared and ready to walk faster and up to pace with the rest of the crowd.

I am also proud to share that I have raised a total of $805 for this walk. I think my donation page still exist here: http://www.walkamerica.org/piggy711

When I first started my goal was to raise $500 and I'm so happy that so many friends and family have all showed their support and helped me raised so much more than I expected!

This walk dedicated to my dearest ex-roomie Kunise's little boy Yoshi who was borned 12 weeks premature.

Back in the Bay.

Had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend with my family down in San Diego this Memayaidan_1 year. Got to see tons of animals, took lots of pics and enjoyed the hot San Diego sun. While I was away I heard that it was pouring rain, was hailing in San Jose on Saturday and there was a 4.0 earthquake in Pietmond. Gee, that was only 3 days I was gone.

I'm just getting stoooopider.

Oh my. I just read this article from my friend June and now I feel like I need help ... since I feel like I'm addicted to the computer, email, text messaging and just online communications period. Scary. I think I'm just getting stupider and stupider each day. It even says that addicted to the computer might even make u stoopider than smoking pot. Oh boy. I'm just gonna go smoke some pot now.

Read the article here yourself:

E-mail addles the mind. Endless messaging rots brain worse than pot, study finds.
